Delete your Quotera account

You can delete your account yourself in the Quotera app or on the web, or ask us to do it by email. Your account is closed right away. Support can restore it for 30 days. After that it is permanently erased and cannot be undone.

In the app or on the web

Delete it yourself

  1. Open the Quotera app and log in.
  2. Go to Settings, then Account Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Type DELETE, enter your password if your account has one, and confirm.

On the web, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account.

Your account is closed right away. Support can restore it for 30 days. After that it is permanently erased.

A restore brings back your account, the shops closed with it, and your team memberships where the shop and role still exist. Organizations you owned, crew assignments and chat participation are not restored.

By email

Ask us to delete it

  1. Email support@quotera.app from the email address on your account.
  2. Use the subject "Delete my account" and include the name of your shop.
  3. We reply to confirm the request is yours. Then we send you the steps to delete it yourself, or, if you cannot sign in, we delete it for you.

We reply within 10 business days. We close your account within 14 days of your request, and it is permanently erased 30 days after it closes, so everything is done within 45 days. If we cannot confirm the request is yours, we tell you why and do not delete the account.

Shops you own

If you own a shop

A shop is closed with your account only when you are its primary owner and its only member. Any paid Subscription it has is set to cancel at the end of the current billing period, so it does not renew.

Deleting does not refund Charges already paid, except where the law requires a refund. Organizations you own close right away; the shops in them leave the organization and lose any multi-shop discount from their next invoice.

Closing a shop stops its text messaging right away. [Its texting number is kept until the shop is permanently deleted. If support restores the shop, texting resumes only once its plan is paid, and the shop may not get the same number back.]

If other people are members of a shop you are the primary owner of, the deletion stops until you transfer ownership on the web in Settings, then General.

A closed shop can be restored by support for [90 days]. After that it and all of its records are permanently deleted.

[Before you delete, download the shop's records from Settings, then General. If you keep your account, you can also sign in and download them from My Shops for 90 days after the shop closes.] If you delete your account, you can no longer download them. Your business may be required to keep its sales and tax records for several years.

Your data

What a shop keeps

  • Business records you worked on, such as work orders, estimates, invoices, and payments, stay with the shop that owns them. Once your account is erased, they show your name as "Deleted user".
  • If a shop has time records for you, your team membership stays with that shop as a closed account with your name, so it keeps its time history. You cannot log in again.
  • SMS consent records for a closed shop's customers are kept for 5 years, and their opt-out records for at least [10 years], as the phone number, dates and how consent was given or withdrawn, to prove consent and to keep honoring opt-outs.
  • Billing records for Quotera Subscriptions are kept by our payment processor, Stripe, under Stripe's own rules.
  • Support tickets, referral records and agreements a business signed with Quotera are kept as Quotera's business records, as our privacy policy describes.
  • Estimate approvals you signed keep the drawn signature, typed name, optional email and time recorded when you approved. Contracts you signed keep the drawn signature, name, email, time, IP address and browser recorded when you signed.
  • A record that you asked for deletion (the date, who asked, the account [and shop] it concerns, and the IP address and device the request came from) is kept with no end date, to show we honored it.
  • Backups: [BACKUP RETENTION].
